Four Middle Eastern countries enjoy visa-free visit China

On 29th May,2025, according to the latest announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China: To further facilitate the convenient movement of people between China and foreign countries, the Chinese government decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries. From 9th June,2025 to 8thJune,2026, a 30-day visa-free entry policy will be implemented for ordinary passport holders of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. During this period, citizens of the above-mentioned countries who visit China for purposes such as business activities, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits or transit, and whose stay does not exceed 30 days, may enter the country without a visa. The latest list of countries eligible for China's visa-free policy is hereby announced as follows:

Mutual visa exemption

Thailand, Singapore, Maldives, Kazakhstan, Antigua and Barbuda, Albania, United Arab Emirates, Barbados, Bahamas, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dominica, Fiji, Granada, Qatar, Mauritius, Serbia, Seychelles, SAN Marino, Suriname, Tonga, Armenia, Georgia, Ecuador, Solomon Islands, The Independent State of Samoa.

*Uzbekistan (* Take effect from 1st June,2025)

30 days visa free

From 30th November,2024 to 31st December,2025

Unilateral visa exemption

Brunei, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, New Zealand, Australia.

From 1st June,2025 to 31st May, 2026

Unilateral visa exemption

Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay.

According to the new policy, it will greatly simplify the procedures for citizens of the above-mentioned countries visit China and promote bilateral personnel exchanges. This expansion of visa-free access is the latest measure taken by China to continuously optimize its entry and exit policies and promote high-level opening to the outside world. China has implemented visa-free or visa-on-arrival policies for many countries, including over 40 countries such as the ten ASEAN countries, France, and Germany. The inclusion of major oil-producing countries in the Middle East on the visa-free list this time reflects the deepening of relations between China and the Middle East region.

As China's pace of opening to the outside world continues to accelerate, it is expected that more countries will be included in the scope of visa-free or simplified visa policies in the future. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that it will continuously assess the effectiveness of the visa policy and adjust and optimize it in a timely manner in accordance with the needs of the international situation and the development of bilateral relations.
